Brush and Pencil Studio - Artist Ruth Thiessen.

It seems that art has followed me around all my life. My earlier years in art were because of my fathers teaching on how to draw when we were kids. Then I married a man named Art, our initials (Art and Ruth Thiessen) spell A.R.T and I have always been coloring, drawing, or painting, even watching others do art is a fascination for me. You might say Art is the love of my life, no matter how I look at it.

I am a proud member of the Internationally acclaimed Equine Art Guild.

My life is devoted to God, my family and portraying wildlife,and farm animals particularly the horse in as much realism as is possible. This I believe warrants why my work is sought the world over.

I am Saskatchewan born and raised , proudly Canadian.

I am an award winning artist (though entering competitions is not my favorite thing) and frequently receive invitations to prestigious art shows. My work is often published in the Equine Vision, Horses in Art magazine out of California, USA, and numerous other magazines as well.

It is my desire, that you the purchaser will enjoy my work for years to come.
